Objectives:
1. To become familiar with where to connect power supply and insert the memory modules.
Procedure:
a. Complete virtual labs 1.1.9, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.9 from CertExams A+ Lab Simulator, submit the images and be prepared to answer questions about the procedures.
b. The questions that will come from these labs are:
1.From the diagram for Lab 1.1.9 there is a second power connector on the motherboard that is important to connect. It has the same pins type and color as the ATX connector. Can you find this connector and how many pins does it have?
2. Which of the types of memory module will be used by laptops?
3. Is DDR2 forward, backward or not compatible with DDR or DDR3?
4. What is the latest DDR type of memory being used?
5. DDR2 and DDR3 but have 240 pins, what does DDR4 have?
6. What is the largest capacity of DDR4 can you find?
7. All memory families are keyed and have a notch. From diagram below which RAM module has the notch farthest to the left in the diagram and what DDR family is it from?
c. Take all these images and answer and put into a document and upload it to Lab #7 assignment. Each image and each question is worth 5 points for a total of 55pts. for the lab submission.
