1. To become familiar with the configurations and components for the setup of a local area network or LAN.
Procedure:
a. Complete virtual labs 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, & 8.5 from CertExams A+ Lab Simulator, submit the images and be prepared to answer questions about the procedures. Not all these labs will give the message of "Answers are correct", it may show "Lab has been completed" or if no message show me the image of the last step of the lab.
b. The questions that will come from these labs are:
1.Lab 8.1 had four physical tools used in computer repair, go find another tool not listed and explain what it is used for. I found a list of a few items with the compressed air being my most popular one.
2. Now in Lab 8.2 these are the more common tools that I use for troubleshooting a system. From the list there are two of them no longer being used directly but with the command "bootrec". Which two are used as switches with the command bootrec?
3. If you try the command "tracert www.brcc.edu" what server do you end up at? If tracert does not work you can find the ip address with "nslookup www.brcc.edu".
4. List the SSID of a network you connect to. Did you create this name or did it come with the Wi-Fi router for your home?
5. In Lab 8.5 you configured two PC's statically. To run a wired Ethernet between the two computer without a hub or switch you need to use a crossover cable. What is the difference between the crossover cable and the straight cable?
c. Take all these images and answers and put into a document and upload it to Lab #4 assignment. Each image and each question is worth 5 points for a total of 50pts. for the lab submission.
