Lab #2 - CertExams Labs 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 & 2.6
Objectives:
1. To become familiar with the configurations and components for the setup of a local area network or LAN.
Procedure:
a. Complete virtual labs 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 & 2.6 from CertExams A+ Lab Simulator, submit the images and be prepared to answer questions about the procedures.
b. The questions that will come from these labs are:
1. Many of the Base-T Ethernet standards are related to data speed though the copper wire. The 100 Base-T standard is what wire category? (These labels are CAT)
2. Which color wires are never moved in the RJ-45 connector between T568A or T568B?
3. Single-mode fiber-optic cable go longer distances then mulit-mode fiber cables. How long can a single-mode fiber cable go before it needs to be amplified?
4. There are many ports used with TCP/IP, what was port 666 first used for?
5. PING is a very popular network connectivity tester and what TCP/IP protocol does it use?
6. IPCONFIG is a command to see the configuration of the Windows system. What is the similar command used in Linux?
c. Take all these images and answers and put into a document and upload it to Lab #2 assignment. Each image and each question is worth 5 points for a total of 60pts. for the lab submission.
