Lab 3 ITN 103
Step 1 Web Services
1. Install
the Web Server (IIS) role to make server a Web server.
2.
In the Dashboard console of Server Manager, click
Add roles and features.
3.
Click Next three times to get to the server role
selection screen.
4.
Choose the Web service (IIS).The click Next again until you see
Install.
5.
Allow the installation to complete.
To
verify type in "localhost" in a web browser to get the basic page of "Welcome"
for IIS.
6. A new tool will be added to the Server Manager for the IIS manger.
7. Show me the image of the home page.
Step 2
DHCP
1. Install
the DHCP role to make server a DHCP server.
2.
In the Dashboard console of Server Manager, click
Add roles and features.
3.
Click Next three times to get to the server role
selection screen.
4.
Choose the DHCP service then choose Next again until you see
Install. You will be warned
that you do not have a static IP address (which we should have for the role)
then say Continue.
5.
DHCP servers operate independently, so you must install only one on a network.
It will be similar to what you did with Web services. We are only going to
explore the role.
6. A new tool will be added to the Server Manager for DHCP. I also had to commit
my DHCP service to get it to work, you may need to do something similar too.
7. To start the DHCP manager I
right-clicked the service and it was one of the listed options. Create a scope for your DHCP server, what
did you create?
8.
Explore any other feature
within the DHCP service.
9. Show me the image of the scope.
Step 3
DNS
1. Install
the DNS role to make the server a DNS server.
2.
In the Dashboard console of Server Manager, click
Add roles and features.
3.
Click Next three times to get to the server role
selection screen.
4.
Choose the DNS service then choose Next again until you see
Install.
You will be warned
that you do not have a static IP address (which we should have for the role)
then say Continue.
5. A new tool will be added to the Server Manager for DNS.
6.
Create a new zone
in the DNS Manager
7. Create a new Address resource record in your
DNS server
8. Show me the image of the record.
